Circular Valley Forum 2023 (Conference)

Circular Valley Forum 2023 (Conference)

The Circular Valley Forum will provide the perfect overview of

all key aspects of the Circular Economy on

November 16

at the Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal. Joining them will be NRW Minister President Hendrik Wüst, his Flemish counterpart Jan Jambon, Ministers Mona Neubaur and Ina Scharrenbach, as well as Ministers Nathanael Liminski and Oliver Krischer, Nanette Braun from the United Nations, and from the corporate boards of directors Rolf Buch (Vonovia) and Christian Kullmann (Evonik), among others.

The discussion rounds will start with the basis for all further topics and steps: Energy. Without renewable and clean energy, the Circular Economy will not work. Executives from energy-intense industries will discuss the status of the energy transition and the open issues.

From this basis, the discussion will first move to the level of individual companies and then to their cooperation. What can companies do on their own premises to advance the Circular Economy? And what needs to be considered when several companies join forces in the second step? Circular Valley has already proven many times in its partner network that exchange and cooperation lead to more than the sum of the parts.

Cross-company cooperation will be discussed at the Circular Valley Forum on November 16 based on two main topics: bioplastics and sustainable construction. In the first topic, an enormous amount is developing right now; in the second, the potentials are enormous. In no other area so many materials are moved, used and deconstructed. Consequently, this is also the area where the most emissions and waste can be reduced.

The thematic circle of the day will be closed by two rounds in which the participants will discuss which incentives help the processes. Are there forms of incentivization for the Circular Economy? And above all, how can approval processes be accelerated so that all those who want to can also get to implementation more quickly?

The wide range of information on offer at the Circular Valley Forum will be rounded off by some of the initiative's partners. Banks and financial institutions will present ways in which companies can finance the transformation. The Prosperkolleg, a research project from Bottrop, Germany, will present how it develops practical solutions with companies to bring their materials full circle and thus make the transition to the Circular Economy.

At the end of the forum, there will be another great inspiration: at the DemoDay, the international startups that Circular Valley is promoting this fall and winter will present their ideas in short talks.

Finally, the grand finale of the entire day is the festive dinner and the cultural program in the evening.
